On Edge is an American alternative metal band from Arlington, Massachusetts, formed in 2013 by guitarist Tommy Barvick and drummer Jesse Schulz. Bassist Calvin McLean was recruited shortly after the band's inception, followed by the entrance of lead vocalist and rhythm guitar player Eric Sacarny. ==History== Tommy Barvick and Jesse Schulz became friends in sixth grade at the Ottoson Middle School in Arlington. Sharing the same musical tastes, later that year the two formed a band called Flounder. Mutual friend Calvin McLean took up bass and joined Flounder, completing the lineup with Schulz playing guitar and singing, and Barvick drumming and singing. Flounder only played one show and disbanded after releasing their only album, ''Schloop'', but it formed the basis for what would soon become On Edge. When entering high school, Schulz and Barvick got together again and had a jam session that formed a new band with a heavier approach than Flounder. They called this new musical endeavor SFYNKTYR, and opposite to Flounder, Barvick now assumed the role of guitar and Schulz took up the drums. SFYNKTYR soon changed its name to On Edge, and Calvin McLean joined to play bass. Looking for a better singer, the band recruited mutual friend Eric Sacarny to sing and play mainly rhythm guitar, although Sacarny plays lead on a few tracks. On Edge's first show was scheduled to be an opening slot for The Pretty Reckless on the 2014 Sno-Core Tour stop at the Worcester Palladium in Worcester, Massachusetts, but the show was cancelled along with the whole tour due to Taylor Momsen contracting bronchitis. On Edge played shows among bands local to the New England music scene such as New Jupiter, Cavallia, Unforeseen Tragedy, Pluto's Ghost, and more at venues such as Anchors Up! in Haverhill, Simon's 677 in Providence, American Legion in Woburn, and Mother Brook Community Center in Dedham, as well as house shows and backyard shows. In the summer of 2014, On Edge was featured on a compilation distributed by All About Records at the Mansfield date of the Vans Warped Tour. Soon after, in late 2014, On Edge started to open for national touring acts such as Nekrogoblikon, Swashbuckle, and Downset. In 2015, On Edge played their two biggest shows to date. The first was on January 31, a Battle of the Bands at the Regent Theatre in Arlington, to a crowd of over 400 people. The second was an opening slot for American Head Charge, Combichrist, Filter (band), and Coal Chamber at the Worcester Palladium on March 28. On Edge released their debut EP, ''Distortus Maximus'', on June 5, 2015 via their Bandcamp page. On July 15, 2015, On Edge announced via Facebook that they had broken up. 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「On Edge (Metal Band)」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
